We had our appointment at the Burn Unit in SLC today. Geoff has been out of town for the week so my brother came with me. Good thing he did because I almost fainted. I have learned that I don’t do well with seeing people I love being in pain. I’ve seen the wound lots obviously, but when they were touching it and he was hurting, I got lightheaded.
Their assessment was not quite as positive as I was hoping for, though they did say that much of it is healing well. Parts of it are deeper than they originally thought, so skin grafts are still a possibility unfortunately. They told us to keep our routine up for the next two weeks and then they’d decide at that point. Walter, the nice physical therapist, made Isaac a splint for us to put on the back of Isaac’s leg at night to encourage his knee to straighten since it’s in a slight bent position right currently.
I am certainly grateful to have Geoff back! Did I mention that I lost my wallet at Thanksgiving Point on Tuesday? Let’s just say it’s been a long week.
Isaac rocked it! So brave.
I love Isaac’s smile! So cute 🙂
Hang in there, you guys! Isaac is such a brave and strong little boy!
Leah, You are such a strong Mommy!! Seriously one of my HEROS!! And Issac is a trooper!!!
Isaac is so brave! I love those pics of you guys with big smiles.
Amy
We love you Isaac!!
i’m with you leah; there’s nothing harder than seeing someone you love in pain! i’m glad your hubby is back. nice tan, by the way.
You were at Thanksgiving point on Tuesday? I was at Thanksgiving point on Tuesday! I can’t believe I missed you. Although, it was a mad house. . .
So sorry to hear about Isaac’s accident. Sadly, I know exactly what you’re going through; my little boy was also burnt a few years ago. Stay positive. It gets better.
Well at least he looks good in the pictures!!! Poor little guy, hope he recovers quickly from this, and hopefully you won’t need the skin grafts. We’ll be praying for him and your family, Leah.
Leah, I’m so sorry. What a rough couple of days. I guess when it rains, it pours. I hope that your little guy feels better really soon. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I ran across the Neon Graveyard last week. I happened to be at the Leid Children’s museum and noticed it across the street. I was in a hurry and wasn’t able to check it out though. When I get more details I’ll let you know.
Take care,
Melissa
oh little isaac- i am so sorry for this accident! but it sounds like mom and dad are taking great care of you and that your healthy little body will heal very well! good luck little blue eyed boy!
Leah- just got back to regular internet service and read about Isaacs accident! I am so sorry! Thank goodness things are going well. What an ordeal. Hope everything is good today…
Poor little Isaac!! I hope he gets better soon!
P.S. We’ll be home Sunday!
O Leah, I would need someone there with me as well. He is so adorable and I am always thinking about you guys!
we love you isaac, and pray for you to heal every day!!
I’m so glad Matt was able to be there with you. I almost fainted once when Alex was in with Dr. Fairbanks. It was embarrassing since I almost also threw up on him. Instead I had to put my head between my legs while he cracked upon this little packet of medicine and then held it under my nose. Sweet memory!
We’re home now…let’s talk.
Leah, I can’t believe this. I’m so sorry this is happening to you. I just teared up a bit reading this. (I’m at work, so thanks) I can’t believe what you guys are having to go through! You are in are thoughts and prayers!
XOXO
Yikes! I’ve been in Oregon on vacation and just spend a large chunk of time going through your blog to see what happened to Isaac! Poor kid…I hope that his burn continues to heal well.
Things like this scare me to death. I know accidents are bound to happen in our kids futures but I do NOT look forward to those days. It breaks my heart to see kids in pain. Good luck!
