We started a tradition a little while ago that when a girl entered the family, she got a silver c-band bracelet, to represent our sisterhood. The last couple years, our family alone must be keeping the silversmith in business with all the baby girls we’ve added. With my mom and dad leaving in October on an 18-month mission to Fiji for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we decided my mom needed one as well so she could have a physical reminder of all her sisters who are so proud of her, love her and know she can do it even when times get hard. We inscribed “Forever Sisters” in it. She grew up in a family of brothers and always wished for sisters and the special relationship that goes along with that. As we’ve grown older, I know we all think of my mom as a sister as well. That means more to me then many things in my life so far and I hope that my daughters will think of me in that way…well, at least after they’re teenagers.
What a treasure!! Poor Callie is almost upside down. Anything for a picture : )
So sweet. Is it OK that Grace kind of fits into the Sherry clan with her bracelet too 🙂
LOVE our sister bracelets. Well written Leah.
Just makes me smile thinking about all of us having these physical reminders of sisterhood and family love.
A great tradition tying you all together!
Leah! Love visiting your blog. Thanks so much for the sweet comment on Mark’s blog.
Kate is a snuggle bug- I love the pics of her with your mom- priceless.
Happy to see that your summer is lovely –
(:
Such a fun tradition!, love that picture too!
Leah, I guess I can say I have stalked your blog for years. I think I found it through Deborah who is one of my best friends from junior high and high school. It was also fun once I realized Matt is your brother! He is good friends with several of my older brothers. Next time I’m in Utah I am hoping we can book a session with you! We are hoping to make it up from Arizona some time in October.
Oh and I had to comment on this post because you mentioned your parents were heading to Fiji. My grandparents, Wanda and Wilbur Woolf, were the mission presidents there in the mid 80s. We had the opportunity to visit and my sister was even baptized there. Amazing place! Hope you guys get to visit.
I LOVE this Leah!
