I hear Disneyland is the “Happiest Place on Earth.” I think this applies to all months BUT March, when everyone and their dog is out for spring break. Despite the horrid lines, we did have a great time and the kids really, really loved it.
I didn’t realize until I went through these pictures that my hairdo for the day oddly resembled Cinderella’s. So embarrassing.
Isaac waiting patiently in line.
Lucy and I separated from the boys for a bit so they could go on the “Big Boy rides”, which explains why I have a more pictures of her than him. It could also be because she looked so dang cute. At least I thought so until a lady said “Oh, she dressed her self, that’s so cute.” Also embarrassing.
One of my favorite memories from Disneyland was on this carousel ride. Geoff took the strap that is suppose to go around your child’s waist and taught Isaac to hit the horse’s bum with it. A lady over the loud speaker said “Please do not spank your horse with the lap belt sir.” Classic.
Her face pretty much the entire time.
That is until we waited in line for an entire hour to see the princesses and she froze up. Thankfully, she made an exception for her favorite princess and let Ariel hold her hand.
I had high hopes of getting all of us in this shot, but I nearly lost my camera over the side after this one, so I put it away. How classic is Lucy’s face…and Geoff’s for that matter. She LOVED this ride, despite how her face looks on this first turn of the Toon Town rollercoaster.
Planning our next visits. Isaac was fearless and loved every single ride, even Space Mountain which I nearly puked on. He informed me after Thunder Mountain that I made him pee his pants a little because I was screaming so much.
Nothing like a crappy family photo to remind myself that no, it’s not just the camera. This is zoomed in a TON and sharpened a bunch to make it somewhat presentable.
I love that pic of Lucy hamming it up in front of the crowd. Her outfit is so dang cute!!!
What a fun trip. The pics turned out great. And you do look like you could be the Cinderella princess, but that’s just cuz your beautiful!
Okay, so you don’t know me, but I have to say that NO, IT’s NOT JUST THE CAMERA! Your pictures are the cutest Disneyland pics I’ve ever seen! I was looking at your shots with the princess and thinking those look like commercial pics straight out of a catalog. You are dang good and now I want to go to California. Winter is much too long…..
ps. I’d like you to teach me everything you know about photography 🙂
No way will I post Disneyland pictures after these. You might not want to be my friend anymore. So embarrassing.
Lucy’s outfit is adorable!
You didn’t let me down!!! I’ve been checking all day for this post. Love each picture!!! Love that Ike piddled in his pants a bit (totally something Nate would say). Love Lulu’s outfit!!! Love your shirt (the button detail is so fun)! Love that Geoff was in heaven! LOVE IT ALL!!
That lady was looney- Luli’s outfit is adorable. Loving all the ruffles. Could she look any more girly?
It looks like such a great trip. Maybe I’ll get to go to Disneyland before I’m 50.
I agree with Emily, what was that lady thinking? Lucy couldn’t have been any cuter!
You’ve made my Disneyland itch flare up!
OK, I am with Jen here. These pictures are incredible! I especially love the one of Lucy in the carrusel. How did you take it? (it looks like you are so high up). And the weather? It seems like you had a wonderful overcast day for perfect pictures. I love them all.
Elena
Looks So fun! I totally know the Princess her name is Janelle I grew up with her! My parents are going on a cruise with her parents this weekend! So funny you have a close up of her!
Embarrassed to look like Cinderella?! Yeah- WISH I had that problem. Seriously adorable, fun pics. And that lady must have just meant that Lucy was obviously dressing princess style because she’s an absolute doll in all the frills and pink!
All great pictures… especially the rare Geoff Wright smile picture.
Matt’s comment about Geoff is funny. And the frill picture of Lucy is so sweet. I think you should blow it up and put it in her room.
Um, I might have pee’d my pants just a little looking at those photo’s and reading your comments. Especially about spanking the ferris-wheel horse’s bum
WOW Ariel! Looked just like a cartoon! That is a compliment for her 🙂 AND I loved that picture of them hugging. My favourite!!
This has to be one of your awesomest posts ever! I loved every single picture, and I loved the details you wrote about. Also glad to know not to go to Disney during a school vacation. Wow, amazing photos!
Hm, blog stalker coming out of the closet here (and I have no idea how I even found your blog forever ago anyway), but I LOVE your pictures. I’m heading to Disney with my three kids next month and I only pray that I can get some half as good!
Lucys outfit is to DIE for!! Way way way too cute. Im so glad you guys had fun.
That’s Ariel? I remember her being much cuter in the movie…
Been said…I’m in LOVE with Lucy’s outfit. Looks like such a fun trip!
Jon..you are mean! That girl is beautiful. Glad Lucy finally got to see her pincesses, glad to see Geoff’s teeth, glad to be excited for my turn in 3 1/2 weeks(but who’s counting) and glad you are home. We missed you.
What fun! I bet the kids loved it! I am laughing about the comment from the lady about Lucy dressing herself! I think she looks adorable (as always).
I love the angles of the shots on the carousel.
Died over this post. The pictures were darling (of course) but your comments were hilarious. So glad you had such a fun trip!
OK, I don’t care who dressed that little darling…it totally goes together and is perfect for an outing to such a magical place. Geeze, some people. My granddaughters would be in seventh heaven with that outfit!
PS: I’m Sara’s neighbor. Her darling kids are my grandkids’ best friends when they’re in town!
And you’re right–it isn’t just the camera! I’ve been trying to get the right one for years!
