Technically he’s been four for a month now, but we celebrate a month later so that he can have his own special day (Christmas is pretty hard to compete with). I decided to do friend parties every other year, so this year we had over the limited family that was in town and Isaac’s best grown-up buddy, our neighbor Bryan.
We had a day of his favorites, which included: powdered doughnuts and bacon for breakfast, homemade mac n’cheese and quesadillas for dinner, cupcakes with green frosting, and a night out at the BYU basketball game. He was so embarrassed with all the attention that he walked around with his eyes closed most of the time (or made faces like the one he’s making with the cupcake). It was funny, and a little weird.
I can’t believe how old Isaac looks in that first picture. Happy Birthday Ike- I love you!
oh and that mac and cheese recipe looks delish. That’s on the menu for this week.
happy birthday little cutie. so glad you had such a special day!
Happy, happy birthday Isaac!!! Wow…4 years old!!!!
I’m kicking myself right now. I totally meant to call and now he would be in bed. Dang it! At least he should be getting a little somethin’ in the mail tomorrow. >>Such a handsome four year old!
four really?! sheesh..
Sounds like a fun birthday!
Nick loved going! I wish I could have been there- but I did have a tasty cupcake in which Nick was raving about the frosting all night!
AHHH Happy Birthday Issac!!!
Happy Birthday Issac!>(p.s. – grey walked by the computer when I opened up your page and said ‘Mom, do you know who that IS!? It’s Issac! On the computer!’ Apparently he thought he was the only real kid on the web.)
I was wondering if you were going to keep with the month later celebration every year. Happy Birthday Isaac. You are a super handsome 4 year old!
What an adorable 4 year old. We went to the basketball game too…gotta love BYU hoops.>>Oh, and hooray for the cast being off! That could not have been much fun for either you or Lucy.
So fun. Jimmy and Johnny do the same thing about closing their eyes in public awkward situations. I think they think they’re hiding.>>Sounds like a ton of fun! I liked how you kept it simple. We need to do that next year 🙂>>And that banner is adorable! Did you make that?
i can’t believe it, leah. you have a four-year-old! and he’s already a byu fan to boot (good job)! i still remember when we were young, passing notes back and forth in seminary and running around the parking lot of the church on summer evenings. time sure flies!
Happy Birthday, Isaac! What a cutie. Kai does the exact same thing when too much attention is on him. He closes his eyes or puts his hands on his face and makes funny noises. I love that someone else reacts this way, too. What a wonderful birthday he had. So so fun!!
ok, other people do this- i’m so glad because poor atticus has a bday in December and it’s a problem (: -patria
