My parents came for a short, but lovely visit last weekend. It was so wonderful to have them here, it always goes too quickly. My mom and I spent most of our time together talking, cooking and making and canning spaghetti sauce out of tomatoes I picked from our highly productive garden. Isaac and Lucy were enamored as usual with my dad, and he spent most of his time playing with them. We also managed to go on a fun date to Julie & Julia (a MUST see). Even the boys liked it!
My parents brought the kids these foam swords. I went out to take a picture of them mid-fight, but Isaac said he would like a picture like this. Apparently this is what knights do. Duh.
WHAT A LOVELY FAMILY!! AND I LOVE THE KIDDLETS TOO!!
How fun to have Tom and Annie in town! Show pics of your overproductive garden!!!
So what I want to know is was all the work canning the spaghetti sauce worth it? I hear you had to go on a hunt for a pressure cooker…too bad you couldn’t have just borrowed my lonely one that just collects dust in the shop.
Didn’t we go on a can search when I was there last visiting you so you could can applesauce?
Love those kiddlets.
It was great to see you at the reunion! Your kids are so cute!
say hi to your parents for me! sounds like a perfect weekend. cooking is the absolute best way to bond, i have to say!
so sweet!
