After a drive to the LDS temple in Provo and talking about how special temples are, we headed to the little stream at BYU and made and raced cucumber boats. The evening was topped off by making chocolate chip cookies. We love Mondays, our family day.
As a side note, those lovely cucumbers are from our garden. I’m not kidding when I say that I picked 15 the other day!
I intended on posting a picture of us from our wedding, but I don’t have any on hand right now–I’ll post one later for your viewing enjoyment. This is us this weekend, about to dine on delicious sushi at Hapa Grill in Park City.
We had a wonderful weekend. Geoff’s dad took Isaac back to their house after the traithalon (Jordanelle) and Geoff and I headed off to Park City for a delightful evening of shopping, fine dining, and a movie (Lucy did awesome!). The night was made even sweeter by Lucy sleeping the ENTIRE night! Totally unexpected as she has been sleeping horribly lately and had had yet to sleep through the night. Oh sweet sleep! Then, to top it off, the hotel comped our room because our crazy, and apparently drunk neighbor, was banging on our adjoining door at 4 in the morning.
What a wonderful weekend, and what a wonderful man I married. I’m thankful for every day that I get to spend with him. He’s an incredible husband, father and best friend. I literally could not ask for more.
I’m so proud of Geoff. He has always wanted to do a triathlon by the time he was 30 and this weekend he did it! His oldest sister and he did it together and it was truly inspiring. Geoff placed 6th out of his entire age group, and 28th out of the entire group of men (600+)!!! He’s a natural!
At the finish line.
Mission accomplished!
Now I don’t usually post this kind of stuff on my blog, but Geoff and I were literally weeping watching this tonight. It is TOTALLY worth the couple minutes it takes to watch this.
As a preface: these group of guys are doing a type of Fear Factor in the library so they have to stay quiet through the whole thing.
I propose a reunion with all my old roomates in the near future to recreate this. Frankly, I’m suprised we didn’t come up with this ourselves.
*Also watch-worthy if you’re doing a search under Japanese Pranks: Human Tetris, and the Japanese sauna prank.
My sister asked if Geoff is in the dog-house since he was ousted from the banner. Truth is, HE made the banner. I just haven’t had time to get around to doing it. I’ll do it soon though and make sure we’re all included.
Are you dying over this first picture like I did when I downloaded it? Is she the cutest grandma or what? We spent the weekend in Idaho at her house and had a wonderful time. The first picture is at the farm we went to, and might I add this is an actual fox pelt. Her nephew is an avid hunter and trapper, in fact he even sent us home with a beaver…Apparently Geoff told him he’d put it in his office, right.
We had a great time visiting with her. She and I even did some canning! She has a pillow at her house that says “Grandmas are mothers with extra frosting”. There’s a lot of extra frosting on this grandma, she’s just about as sweet as you can get.
