Might as well keep up the family posts while I’m at it! While Geoff and my sister Laura’s husband went mountain biking, us girls kept the fort down. We all loved spending time with them, especially little Isla. It was so fun to have Laura here. She is so eager to help out in any way she can and over the years, she’s become a best friend and confidant. Love you Laura!

Tomorrow one of my best friends leaves for three years. My brother Seth and his family are moving to Lusaka, Zambia. I am overwhelmed with sadness, but also with excitement for them and what the future holds. I will miss Seth’s contagious smile and shared sense of humor. I will miss Caroline’s inquisitive mind and sincerity. I will miss Tommy and his crazy antics, his cherubic face and seeing him pee just about anywhere. I will miss sweet baby Callie growing up from a baby to a toddler. Thank goodness for modern technology that will hopefully make the thousands of miles seem a little less daunting.
I love you Sherry Juniors, to Zambia and back.

Before you go thinking I’m popular or something, just know I was being used for my kitchen. That being said, I am stoked that my kitchen brought in the likes of the Food Nanny for a print ad shoot, taken by the AMAZING Diana from Yan Photography.
Can I just tell you how sweet and darling Liz, the Food Nanny, is? She is a whirlwind of energy and I loved every second with her, especially when she made me pose next to my chicken coop so she could take a picture with her phone. Hilarious. And then there was the lovely cJane. I think we were separated at birth and I want to hang out all the time because all we do together is laugh. She posted a real embarrassing story about me on her blog and if you’re visiting my website via her blog, welcome and come stay a while and don’t be alarmed that on occasion, I have been known to shimmy.
All in all, it was a crazy, fun filled day where I made some lovely new friends, and no one checked my kitchen cupboards to see if they were organized. Sorry Geoff, for making you help me vacuum them out just in case.
Note to self: Perhaps you should do your hair on a day that cameras are present.
My sister from another mister.
Kami from NoBiggie and Allison from Petit Elefant were there too!
Some days when things are crazy around here it feels real, real good to wake up to some kind words read on the internet. I’m beyond flattered.

I’m breaking our 2 week trip to Idaho and Oregon in several posts so as not to overload you all at one time.
The Sherry family has a tradition of Sunday walks. We love them. And take a look at the scenery, who wouldn’t! Geoff was in Vancouver B.C. at a conference for the first part of our time in Oregon, so the kids especially loved having their uncle Seth around.
We started a tradition a little while ago that when a girl entered the family, she got a silver c-band bracelet, to represent our sisterhood. The last couple years, our family alone must be keeping the silversmith in business with all the baby girls we’ve added. With my mom and dad leaving in October on an 18-month mission to Fiji for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we decided my mom needed one as well so she could have a physical reminder of all her sisters who are so proud of her, love her and know she can do it even when times get hard. We inscribed “Forever Sisters” in it. She grew up in a family of brothers and always wished for sisters and the special relationship that goes along with that. As we’ve grown older, I know we all think of my mom as a sister as well. That means more to me then many things in my life so far and I hope that my daughters will think of me in that way…well, at least after they’re teenagers.
Some things you should know about this little darling:
• The jury is still out on whether it will stay, but her hair (meaning the tuft at the top) appears to be auburn.
• If you say “where’s you’re smile” to her, she’ll smile. Every time.
• She started spitting up a lot, which none of us are fans of. Could it be something I’m eating?
• In general, she sleeps like a dream during the day, but mom would appreciate a longer stretch at night pretty please.
• She has been known to put both fists in her mouth, and occasionally a foot as well. At the same time.
• She absolutely melts each and every one of us and we can’t get enough of her.
Here are some pictures of her snuggling with my mom at our family reunion.
