We stayed in Laie in a cute little house, right on the beach. It was just perfect for what we needed. After dragging the babies around the first couple days, we decided to hang out at the house and let them have some normal naps. It was great because we could be out on the beach while they were inside snoozing.

Geoff and Dover went on a snorkeling expedition down the beach.

Amy kept mocking us for all our kissy pictures. Hey, we still got it. Don’t be jealous.

Dover found this crab missing half of its legs. It was still alive though and latched onto Geoff’s finger with its claw and punctured the skin. I can only imagine the damage a large crab could do!

Almost four and full of spice, this little one packs a whole lot of personality into one teeny body. We love you Lucy!

After mentioning to my friend, Jessica that I didn’t have any pictures with Kate, she offered to come take some of us with our newest addition. How lucky am I? I have always loved looking back at pictures of my mom with each of us as we were growing up and I hope my children will cherish these pictures as I do in years to come. They are of us, in our home, with little preparation or fan-fare, doing what we do.

Today marks three months since Kate was born. Last week I turned thirty-one years old. There are so many years between us, but most of the time it feels like we’ve know each other forever. With yesterday being Mother’s Day, I had some time to reflect on the three who make me a mother. I am so grateful to have them in my care. It’s such an awesome responsibility to love and teach children and I often times fall short. I’m so lucky to have a mother who is one of my best friends who taught me from the very beginning how to mother, and continues to do so to this day.

Thank you to my friend Jessica Kettle, who came and took some pictures of our family and Kate and I. What a gift to have a tangible memory of us, as we are, right now. Family pictures to come.

Amanda requested a trip to Thanksgiving Point for pictures. I had never gone there before for pictures so it was all new to me. Some things you should know about Thanksgiving Point are: 1. They don’t joke around with photography over there, you must carry a pass at all times and you will be one of a million people taking pictures. 2. When you go during “Tulip Festival” you might think, as they imply, that there are fields of tulips. There aren’t. This is a myth. 3. When you are in a massive hurry and decide to employ the services of a golf cart tour, they may drive for ten minutes, drop you off in a small patch of tulips and leave. And then you will have to walk all the way back.

BUT, if you’re hanging out with Amanda and Josh during all of this, it won’t phase you because they laugh a lot, are madly in love, and occasionally do inappropriate things. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in June.
