I took a little trip up to SLC this weekend to shoot this beautiful family. Despite the fact that their darling 10 month old boycotted her nap that day, we managed to get some good ones still. It was a short and sweet shoot, and I guarantee that one fell right to sleep on the drive home!

Hooray for repeat clients! I had the pleasure of photographing this family again this year. I love that because it always feels like I’m just hanging out with friends…except I have a camera in their face. This shoot involved me nearly dropping my camera when I thought I’d be clever and put a praying mantis on my camera hood to get the kid’s attention. It crawled on my finger and I yelled like a little girl.
On to the pictures of this incredibly handsome family:
I love, love, love this picture. So timeless looking and how handsome are those boys!
I had the pleasure of photographing this family who was in Utah for a family reunion, all the way from New York City! (I can’t help saying that like the old salsa commercial still). They requested nature shots as it’s few and far between where they are. The darling mom even got to see her first deer while we were out tromping around! And would you believe it, after talking a while, yep, we have mutual friends. Never ceases to amaze me the connections that can be made. Thank you Lambert family for letting me spend a bit of time with you!
These long-time clients of mine are just a joy to be around. It’s like getting to see old friends again when they come into town! Someday I’m going to have to talk the mom and dad of these two cute kids to sit in for a picture or two! Can’t wait to see you all again this winter.
If you look closely between them, there is a deer standing there.
Taking pictures of people is always a treat for me, and even more so when it’s my family! Here’s my oldest brother and his wife and their hilarious little girl. She is obsessed with hugging Lucy 24/7. Generally in involves her taking Lucy down from behind. She has the longest eye lashes, and sweetest lips. They are a wonderful example to me and I’m so grateful to live nearby them so that we can have times like these together.
**Sofia’s fabulous dress and hair accessory were made by her amazing seamstress of a mom!
Melissa and I were co-workers back in the BYU Center for Instructional Design days, and Geoff and her husband were freshman year buddies. We haven’t seen each other in quite a while since they live in upstate New York, but you’d never have known. They are such a fun, sweet family. And their kids? Holy cuteness! We lovingly refer to this shoot as the “Poop Shoot” as their baby stepped in dog poo which ended up on the entire family by the end of the shoot. Funny for me, not so fun for them.
Thanks to past client referrals, this family drove down to see me for some family pictures. The weather was ideal, and this family is so sweet. I maybe had a lot of favorites to show you. And I maybe had a lot more that I had to stop myself from posting.
**as a side note: NO Photoshop work has been done on their eyes AT ALL. They were blessed with naturally gorgeous eyes. As I continue to stretch myself in the photograhy relm, I use Photoshop less and less. While Photoshop is wonderful, I believe that capturing it just right in the camera the first time is the most important part of photography.
