Almost 5 weeks old and I promise you, this girl has been smiling FOR REAL since she was three weeks old. I have a video to prove it, but it’s on Geoff computer, so you’ll just have to wait.

Almost 5 weeks old and I promise you, this girl has been smiling FOR REAL since she was three weeks old. I have a video to prove it, but it’s on Geoff computer, so you’ll just have to wait.
Many years ago when Geoff and I were both in school at BYU, we had a design class with a beautiful and talented girl named Katie. This girl is a mamma now, still beautiful and still designing. In fact, she and her husband are the owners and designers of Puj Baby, a company that makes products that makes parenting easier. She was kind enough to think of us when we had baby Kate and sent us a Puj Tub. We love it, and most importantly, Kate loves it! It’s so easy to use (two snaps and you’re done), super comfortable for your baby (no more crying), lightweight and easy to store (a must have for apartment dwellers). Thank you Katie!
Just chillin.
Lucy has been sick so we haven’t been letting her get by Kate. This has been really hard for Lucy as she’d like nothing better than to smother her in kisses. When I asked her if she wanted to hold her for some pictures, now that she’s getting better, she was so excited. I’ve decided that awake newborns are the hardest subject to get a good picture of. So here’s some cute ones of Lucy and not so much Kate.
I thought maybe I should get one with my little lady too. Also not successful. There wasn’t a good one of the both of us in the bunch. Any photographer friends want to give it a try for me?
Perfect felt bow made by my talented friend Ann of Lou and Lee. Run, don’t walk.
My parents have been in town since Wednesday. Anyone who knows my parents knows that any project that may have needed to get done around my house was finished within days of their arrival. They’ve built shelves, mended clothes, fixed meals, entertained the kids, given haircuts, painted…the list goes on and on. I’m so grateful for them and their love for our family.
This little lady has been doing 5.5hr stretches at night which is down right glorious for a week old in this family of terrible newborn sleepers.
My mom giving Kate a bath. She clearly hates being cold.
The cutest clenched buttocks ever.
My dad, painting in Kate’s room.
My parents brought supplies to make a pig pinata with the kids. Who doesn’t travel with art paste these days?
My mom also brought fabric to make pajama pants with the kids.
Isaac with his baby.
Lucy meeting her sister for the first time.
Isaac holding Kate.
And he even changes diapers…
Our second day at home, I asked Isaac to hold Kate while I was cleaning up. He held her for a good 20 minutes and I came back to this.
And then Lucy wanted to take a “nap” with her too.
She’s already smitten with her daddy.
