I’m just relieved to get the real thing over with!
This little one woke up on the wrong side of the crib from her nap and wouldn’t even crack a smile.
He went as a French Postman for our church party, but tonight, he was just handsome.
We stuck with our tradition of dinner and trick or treating with Grandma and Grandpa (and cousin Hudson the Dragon), then over to the Dover’s.
I got in on dress-up action too! Having a yellow front door really pays off.
Geoff and the kids went to Escalante Utah and hiked two slot canyons last year and loved it, so I decided to join them this year. My “sister-in-laws” watched Kate so that we could be a little bit more flexible. It ended up being one of my favorite things we did together this summer. It is unbelievably gorgeous in Escalante and it was so fun to get out and get hiking again with the kids and their friends. We plan on keeping it as a yearly tradition.
Making dinner after we hiked to our camping spot and then hiked Peekaboo with only head lamps!
Two pretty awesome dads.
Oatmeal for breakfast.
Scout and Lucy.
Isaac and Lincoln.
Lucy found this massive beetle.
Into Spooky slot canyon.
Mole skin application.
Back at the car, happy, tired and amazed by the beauty nature has to offer.
Lucy started Kindergarten today in a darling skirt her Grandma made her for the big day. She told me she was really nervous on the way there. By the time I dropped her off and spoke with her teacher, she was chatting with her table buddies and the nerves had disappeared. I can’t wait to see all the things this little one learns this year. I then went home to a glorious 2.5hr quiet time while Kate was asleep. It’s going to be a good year…for all of us.
One of our family’s very favorite things to do is pick berries. Isaac is counting down the days/years till he can work there. I also rediscovered that my husband’s undying love can be ensured with 16 containers of raspberry freezer jam. FYI.
