Amy and I decided to try once again to be “fun moms” and take the kids up to Salt Lake to Discovery Gateway. The kids LOVED it. Isaac especially liked the part where you can use a crane and build, as well as the life-flight helicopter. Despite the craziness of the day and me questioning why I ever leave the house, it was a fun outing.
My little brother Luke went to the temple for the first time with my grandma and her husband this weekend. It was a very special event and I felt so honored to be there for it. Luke will be leaving on a mission to Paris France in May, we couldn’t be more excited. My grandma and grandpa were sealed the next day in the temple as well. What an answer to a lifetime of prayers!
It was a wonderfuly busy week, and I loved every minute of it. Here are some pictures of all of us after the sealing. Laura, we miss you more than words can say and can’t wait to see you in just a few months. And mom and dad, apparently I took no pictures with you. Shame on me.
Leaving a spot for Laura!
Matt and Jessica
Sara and Birch. They are always making out. It’s hard to get a face shot of them.
Blue Steel, I mean Luke.
Seth, Caroline and Tommy.
I even got in on the action!
Sweet sisters! Both Sara and Emily (my older sisters) are prego with baby girls (#6 for Sara, and #1 for Emily). Aren’t they the cutest ever! We were really missing our little sister Laura this day.
I’m no Olan Mills photographer, but I’m pretty sure they’d be proud of this one. Check out that sweet “unposed” pose.
Also responds to: Tommy T, Tomatillo, Tomás and Seth and Caroline’s baby boy.
Seth is my younger brother, and he lives in Oregon, which explains why he’s barefoot and playing frisbee. While the kids were asleep, we (Caroline, Seth’s wife and I) played a rousing game of “Catch the Frisbee in the Most Ridiculous Way Possible”. Which was really funny until Seth FAKE threw the frisbee to me and I did a jig in anticipation of my catch, while others pointed and mocked.
Caroline had never before tasted the ambrosia that is the famous dawg from J Dawgs, so we initiated her. My brother Luke works here so we’re pretty much regulars. Apparently John Heater, just minutes before stood in line for a dawg like the rest of us commoners.
def. Slacklining – a balance sport which utilizes nylon webbing stretched tight between two anchor points.
Here’s Lucy after breakfast, playing in a patch of morning sun. She’s 10 months old now and finally crawling. I’m missing the days of immobility already. She continues to be the smiliest baby ever, but is now also the loudest baby ever. She sounds like a Shreaking Eel from Princess Bride.
We’ve had a crazy busy week, filled with fun family events. Tons of pictures to follow once I’ve recuperated!
We went up to SLC to see my cousin Dean who has been visiting. Dean and Geoff were gone playing basketball during daylight, and so I don’t have any pictures with him unfortunately. I did manage to catch a couple of the kids outside with my grandma however. She’s hilarious, and by hilarious, I mean SERIOUSLY the funniest person you’ve ever met. Did I mention she’s eighty?
(if this was a video, Lucy would be clapping, her newest trick)
This picture cracks me up.
It was not a good picture taking day. Isaac didn’t want to hold Lucy, Lucy thought it was hilarious. Isaac was bribed with Easter sidewalk chalk to sit for a picture. Isaac smiled, but had aforementioned chalk all over his Easter attire. Lucy could not be bribed with anything and cried. Lucy has no Easter picture.
